Walking You Trough The Process
Graphics for print:
  • The preferred format for layout is Freehand (any version). Panels should be made up to 100% (one page per panel) and no bleed is necessary. The Exhibitionist is Mac based.
  • All fonts should be converted to curves.
  • Scans should be saved as CMYK.tiff or .eps files.
  • The best resolution of scans for large format output is 72dpi at FINAL PRINT SIZE. Considering that one standard exhibition panel is roughly the size of a door: 850 x 2200mm, a scan of 300dpi at A4 portrait size will produce a good quality print when enlargened to fit the width of one such panel – although not extending to fit the total length of the panel. Should you wish to cover several panel next to each other (up to 4) with one god quality print, an A1 scan at 300dpi will be needed (around 200MB).
  • Logos: for large format, please use vector shapes (supplied in Freehand or Illustrator or as an .eps.). Jpg and.gif files downloaded from the internet are not suitable for print and become indistinguishable when enlarged, even to just A4 size.
  • Very specific colours should be specified as pantones. It is not guaranteed that pantones can be matched 100% as the process for printing exhibition panels uses CMYK ink.
  • Please supply a hard-copy proof or pdf file of the entire layout.
  • When making up artwork for a Wing please ensure that you have at least 150mm open space at the bottom as this is the part of the graphic that goes into base. If there are graphics there, they will go into the base and will not be visible. Please ensure that there is a 40mm bleed at the top of the graphic, for the attachment of the ‘header’ pole.
  • There may be a delay in production or a DTP fee may be incurred if the above guidelines are not followed.
